Welcome to the 2018 District Conference in Sale, Victoria
RETURN TO THE HEART OF GIPPSLAND FOR A GREAT ROTARY WEEKEND

Sale is the headquarters of the Wellington Shire, positioned at the centre of a region, not only renowned for its dairy, beef, and vegetable growing industries but is the gateway to the Gippsland Lakes, the High Country and alps of the Great Divide, the temperate beech and fern rainforests of the Tarra Valley to the coastal inlets, historic towns and beaches surrounding Yarram, Alberton and Welshpool, the Sale Common and the internationally significant RAMSAR listed wetlands.
The Wellington Shire is the home of one of Australia’s most significant Military training bases at RAAF East Sale where training of officers, military pilots and other aircrew and air traffic controllers is undertaken. Similarly, the Bass Strait and Longford Gas Production facility, providing for most of Melbourne’s and much of Sydney’s domestic and industrial gas supply. Delegates will be welcomed to the region at a Civic Reception on Friday evening 16th February at the new Wellington Centre overlooking the restored Port of Sale.
The various aspects and activities of the conference will be conducted at newly available facilities at the Gippsland Grammar School and at the “The Laurels” Function Centre at Sale’s Greenwattle Race Course. Amongst a range of entertaining, insightful, and challenging global keynote speakers is crime reporter, Andrew Rule, and best selling authors: Louise Mahler and Lisa McInnes- Smith.
Come and enjoy a great conference amongst Rotarian friends, the attractions of the Wellington Shire and perhaps include an extended visit to the “Victorian Riviera” prior to the Easter rush.
